Meet Dr. Misiek

Dr. Misiek is a nationally known, board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, who has been an examiner on the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has lectured throughout the United States and has done research in a wide variety of areas.

After completing his bachelor’s degree at the University of Connecticut, he continued in the UConn School of Dental Medicine, earning his doctor of dental medicine degree in 1978. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Louisiana State University in 1982, then spent 14 years as a full-time faculty member at Louisiana State University, rising to professor, while maintaining an active private practice at Louisiana State.

Today Dr. Misiek has special interests in implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, and pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery. Over the years, he has stayed on the leading edge of his speciality by serving as director or co-director of more than two dozen course reviews at his alma mater and elsewhere. In addition to his commitment to continuing education, his patients also benefit from his extensive experience and training in all aspects of facial cosmetic surgery.
